5 Badass Food Truck Modifications

With today’s food truck industry exploding all over the world, we’ve had the opportunity to see some pretty cool shit. From school bus farmers markets to small eco friendly juice bars, we compiled a small list of some badass food truck modifications that adds a little extra to the industry.

  1. Big Pizza Ovens. Who doesn’t love a slice of za? Not many -we’re sure. But those gigantic pizza ovens can be a little much in a food truck/trailer. These ovens operate at high temperatures making it really difficult during summer months for those working in the space with the oven. Without proper air flow the food truck would itself become an oven, but we’ve thought of an aesthetically cool way to showcase the pizza oven as well as create draft and airflow by creating a back ramp door for the oven to partially slide out (safely secured).

2. Small Coffee Trucks. We are seeing more and more of these babies and really dig them. These trucks are eco friendly, offer all electric options eliminating the need for gas, and small overhead. A perfect option for a small start in the food truck biz.

3. Bluetooth Speaker System. This option is awesome and is honestly missed all the time! Just imagine how much better morning prep and closing is with some tunes or being able to draw a crowd at an event with your own sound system. These sound systems can be permanently mounted inside and out or even temporarily placed. (below: black recessed speakers in the ceiling)

4. Dimmable Lighting. A feature most overlook, but for the experienced food truck owners, they know how standard lights can give that fishbowl effect in the evening, so for a more relaxed ambiance and work experience, the dimmable lights are definitely worth it, even for the hood lights.

5. Mobile Bar Taps. These trucks are great for special events like weddings, family reunions, parties, and more. We’ve seen some pretty impressive taps and trucks with this feature and love the idea. A tip for this type of truck is to ensure that the insulation where the taps are located is secure yet removable in case of any leak or malfunction.
